A Supreme Court Decision That Ms. Palin Disagrees With

So Sarah Palin has named a number of Supreme Court Decisions, other than Roe v Wade, that she disagrees with and she has named a real stinker. The decision of the Supreme Court to dramatically reduce the punitive damages in the Exxon Valdez oil spill  For details on this decision click here.

Wonks Anonymous could not agree with her more. The decision creates an new rule, a "constitutional outer limit" for punitive damages, stating that they should not exceed the compensatory damages in the case. The dissenting justices in the case rightly accuse the majority of "judicial activism".

All fine. Except that the three dissenting Justices, John Paul Stevens, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, and Stephen Breyer are the most liberal on the court and the ruling itself is in keeping with the general pro business, anti litigation position of Ms. Palin's party and the head of her ticket.

Now either her handlers need to be more conscientious in communicating the party line to this woman or this woman needs to find a new party more in keeping with her natural instincts and inclinations. I hear that the Alaska Independence Party is still around.
