So I read in my morning SF Comical - a fine paper that should probably survive - that GOP Chair Michael Steele has apologized to Rush Limbaugh. This because he, Mr. Steele, presumed to question Limbaugh's leadership position in the Republican party and the conservative movement as a whole. These are the precise remarks that Mr. Steele recanted:

Steele rejected assertions that Limbaugh was the "de facto" leader of the GOP. "Rush Limbaugh, his whole thing is entertainment," Steele said then. "Yes, it's incendiary. Yes, it's ugly."Wonks Anonymous believes that the Grand Old Party is in need of an intervention. Yes, it is a real rush to hear the uncritical praise of Mr. Limbaugh and his devotees and they do make for exciting rallies, but this is not where you want your party to be in four years. You may think that this is a fun crowd to be with but your friends are getting more and more uncomfortable. You notice that they don't come by quite as often and that they leave when Rush comes over.
