Reading The Tea Leaves
So the NY Times/CBS News have released new poll data which show that:
- We favor a public health insurance option to compete with private insurers by a margin of 65% to 26%. 9% remain undecided.
- 30% of the people support Obama's proposed changes to the health care system, 23% oppose them and 46% do not know enough.
- 76% of the people disapprove of the Republican position on Health Care. Most say that they have offered no concrete proposals but simply oppose everything.
- People want the public option by an overwhelming margin.
- Many people who want a public option are not sure that Obama will support it when push comes to shove. They say that they don't know enough about his position.
- People don't know much about the Republican position except that it will not include a public option. They disapprove.
