So we have been hit with two reevaluations of cancer screening in the past few weeks and the Republicans have borrowed a meme from Jamie Court of Consumer Watchdog:

It worked against HMOs and now it can work to kill health reform.

Of course people still do die of breast and cervical cancer in our great nation, even when a great many people are subjected to too many tests and get treated for false positive results. These are people who do not have insurance and don't have access to doctors and tests. They go to doctors when lumps get too big to ignore or when bleeding starts and does not stop. By that time it is just too late to do anything about it.

But that is just the limited options of the poor which free up resources for more tests and treatments for those who really keep society going.

It would have been a real tragedy to lose Carly Fiorina.
