Wonks Anonymous is still working furiously to clean up an Excel report with some really clever programming.
Note to programmers: It is possible to write your own Excel Functions using Visual Basic. There is usually a much more straightforward way of doing whatever it is that you want to do. Before you write that function that is almost but not quite entirely unlike some standard Excel routine think about your karma.
If you write simple code people will bless your name. If you amuse yourself with a new way to do something you will earn curses.

- A mentee. All drop boxes are now ActiveX Controls and I have learned to populate a drop down list on the fly. After that it was a simple matter of concatenating search fields for a Vlookup.
