It is curious that in all of the public discussion about the dread deficit no one has mentioned that the Federal Budget was in surplus just nine years ago and that a great many of the people who brought it into surplus are currently working for the Obama administration.

Wonks Anonymous understands that saying good things about Bill Clinton is simply not comme il faut on the left or the right but we might want to see if the last fiscally responsible administration in recent history has anything to teach us.
