All of the compromises made in the late health reform bill were made to please vested interests or to implement goals set by policy wonks. None served to make the bill any easier to understand or any more palatable to the public who would ultimately pay the bills if it passed.

The President needs some real ideas, some backbone and a nice long trip out of Washington.
